🪽Angel Tree 2024
Our Angel Tree mission to provide clothing and gifts to Frederick Douglass Elementary School children in need was again very successful this year. Thank you!
Here is a brief “numbers” report, to fully appreciate the scope of this ministry:
We provided at least 2 gifts each for 75 children (and mostly more than 2), plus 5 bicycles.
We had 60 different purchasers, including Holy Trinity members and attendees, preschool families and girl scouts. Most of these purchasers took more than one wish including 3 HTLC members who each provided 7 wishes!
Our cash donors allowed us to purchase 12 of those wishes.
Our Girl Scout Troop made and decorated over 150 paper ornaments for the tree and gifts. The conformation class put up the tree and added the wishes to the paper ornaments.
Special thanks to:
Linda Rehling, who spent several hours on Saturday helping me sort and pack the gifts for each child. And on Sunday, Shadi and Luke Willeke who helped finish the packing and sorting.
The delivery on Monday went flawlessly with our 8 gift deliverers: Caleb Graham, Peggy and Barrett Everhart, Pat and Roger Bailey, Linda Rehling, and Deb Wenk.
What a wonderful way to share God’s love in our community!
Gratefully submitted, Effie DeGroot

2025 Mowing Season
For the past 14 years volunteers have been mowing the grass at a considerable savings to HTLC . 2 riding mowers, fuel and other equipment is provided.
This years schedule starts on March 24 and ends on Oct 19 with 14 two week team cycles. 3 /4 person teams are scheduled and based on the number of volunteers each team usually mows 3 times a year which can be done any time during the 2 week cycle. We only mow if needed.
In 2024 we had 4 teams consisting of 3 people of which 1 team was a complete family. On job training is provided at no additional cost.
If you are interested in maintaining the beauty of our Church grounds and getting outside during the Summer please contact me at jimtruxel@comcast.net or 540-338-4669. Or contact the church office and I will be in touch.
Thanks again for considering this important program. Jim Truxel
