HOLY TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
January 22, 2025
7:00pm
The meeting was held at Holy Trinity.
Present: Pastor Kristin Hoyer, Russ Seymour, Ann Keigher, Alison Waters, Jana Murgia, Susie Tinney, Chuck Whitacre, Randy Van Epps, Sandy Yancy, Leesa Bell, Jennifer Rohrbach
Absent: Adrien Dias-Mattina, Tammy Brende, Sandy Phillips
CALL TO ORDER – Russell Seymour called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm
DEVOTIONS – Ann Keigher offered devotions regarding asking for God’s help and the refrain of “create in me a clean heart” from Psalm 51.
TREASURER’S REPORT– Susie Tinney & Kristin Shultz
Financial Reports – Kristin Shultz joined us and discussed the church’s position as of the end of the year. We are in a strong position. The preschool is able to be self-sufficient.
PASTOR’S REPORT – Pastor Kristin
Pastor Kristin gave her report
Pastor Kristin asked council to designate $48,000 of her salary as “housing allowance”. A motion was made to approve the designation. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
60th Anniversary – June 13, 2025 will be the 60th anniversary of the church. We would like to have a recognition, but not as large as the 50th anniversary. It would be as close to the date of June 13 as possible, possibly June 1.
OLD BUSINESS
Approval of repairs to HVAC motor blower. On December 10, 2024, Pastor Kristin Hoyer asked the council to consider a request for $1200 to repair a motor in an HVAC unit in the preschool. The preschool paid for the expense. A motion was made to approve the emergency repair and expenditure. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
TEAM REPORTS
Property – Matt Shultz provided a report. We applied for a grant through FEMA and are awaiting a response.
Fellowship – Chili Fest will be held on Feb. 9. The event will be “Souper Sunday” to coincide with the Super Bowl that day. Members are encouraged to bring canned goods for donation.
ADJOURN– A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 8:43 PM. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
